Gordon Robertson-print design
Gordon W Robertson, pewter detail.

Gordon W Robertson trained at Grey’s School of Art, Aberdeen. He moved to London some 20 years ago and initially worked as a fine art editioner with Editions Alecto. He lives and works from his studio in South London.

Gordon’s work brings together the printmaker’s craft with age-old intaglio metal-making techniques to produce surface pattern as a tactile three-dimensional artform. His surface patterns are hand-drawn, scanned and manipulated using computer software then re-drawn and etched onto zinc, copper, pewter, silver and paper. The result is a collection of highly individual one-off pieces and limited editions.

GAS has worked with Gordon  to develop his surface pattern application into a range of highly decorative prints on Somerset fine Art Paper. The results are a stunning addition to his portfolio and are available as Limited editions exclusively through GAS.

Gordon cites Andy Warhol, William Morris and Macintosh as his inspiration and describes his work as graphic, intense and intrinsically concerned with pattern.

All of Gordon's plates are  hand made and of small limited editons. We are open to discussing manufacturing and commissions. For all sales enquiries please contact Gina Cross at contact@gasartagency.co.uk  tel: +44 (0) 7950 415422
